The last of Karnak

August 7, 2010

It was difficult to stay hydrated at Karnak because the nice cool water we carried off the bus didn’t stay cool very long. The last few swallows left in my water bottle were quite hot and rather unsettling in my stomach. Soon after finishing my water bottle I sat down while the group wandered around a corner to a dead end to see something.

Being a person who burns easily, I slathered myself with SPF 50 daily so when my legs started feeling as though they were getting burned from the sun’s reflection on the white sands we walked over, I was a little worried. Fortunately I didn’t get sunburnt, but it sure felt like it while there.  I imagine my white legs didn’t help matters either.  I can’t believe how red my face looks in some of those pictures. Man alive it was hot.  Despite the heat, Karnak was amazing and no one actually died.
