Jerusalem Temple Ruins

August 3, 2011

Jerusalem has a lot of steps. A lot of steep steps. And they’re slippery too because of how long the city has been around. We walked a lot one day up this huge steep stepped hill to get to this place where it showed how high the temporary wall the Jewish people built to keep out an incoming army of Babylonians. There was also a cool underground part of Jerusalem where they had excavated out underneath the current streets to the actual street level of the original city. In one of the tunnels we saw that neat mosaic. We also visited the site in Jerusalem where excavators left a lot of the debris from when it was destroyed. We were sad. It was right next to a marketplace area, you can see some of the stalls for shops on the other side of the destruction. Jerusalem had some way good shawarma.
